Did you know that they are only 6 players who averages 20 points and 6 assists last season? They are Westbrook, LBJ, Harden, Curry, Irving and the 5'9 Isaiah Thomas! For that information only, you can already say that he deserves an increase from 80.
If you are still not persuaded that he deserves an increase, let me compare him to
John Wall - 84
Damian Lillard - 82
Kyrie Irving - 85
(Pts, Rebs, Asts, Stl, Blk, TO, PF, FG%, 3FG%)
Isaiah Thomas
20.3 2.9 6.3 1.3 0.1 3.0 2.6 45% 35%
John Wall
19.3 4.1 8.8 1.8 0.5 3.6 2.7 43% 35%
Kyrie Irving
20.8 3.6 6.1 1.5 0.3 2.7 2.3 43% 36%
Damian Lillard
20.7 3.5 5.6 0.8 0.3 2.4 2.4 42% 39%
Here is the ranking of Thomas in some of those stats.
Pts - 3rd
Rebs - 4th
Asts - 2nd
T.O. - 3rd
FG% - 1st
3FG% - last
this numbers does not make Thomas standout from the four of them but those numbers prove that he is on the level of comparison for the other three.
Advance Stats
(PER, TS%, Asts%, TRB%, TOV%, WS)
Isaiah Thomas
20.5 57.4% 32.3% 4.7% 14.3% 7.7
John Wall
19.5 52.4% 40.5% 6.5% 16.3% 7.9
Kyrie Irving
20.1 53.3% 31.6% 5.8% 12.1% 6.7
Damian Lillard
18.6 56.8% 25.1% 5.3% 11.5% 7.7
Ranking of Thomas
PER - 1st
TS% - 1st
Asts% - 2nd
TRB% - 4th
TOV% - 3rd
WS - 2nd
By using the advance stats, it is quite obvious now that he should be at least at the level of this 3.
add to that is this info that I copied from CLICK
The diminutive point guard isn't an average stopper, thanks primarily to his height, but he's such a hard-working player on the less glamorous end of the court that he's managed to avoid becoming a complete liability. According to 82games.com, he held opposing 1s to a player efficiency rating of 14.5 in 2013-14, and Basketball-Reference.com reveals that the Sacramento Kings actually allowed 3.9 fewer points per 100 possessions when he was on the floor.
With thous information above, I do believe Thomas should be much higher than 80.
So I vote for 83!
