As the GM of the Mavericks we accept.  We were approached by Mr. Webb because he is a huge Ellis fan.  As a team we are very happy with the roster we have currently, but our starters understand we are in it to win it all and to move one guy and our bench for Horford and Teague and Korver its well worth the risk we are taking.  At this point in the season and we know its early, we believe we are taking a huge risk making this trade because we have been playing very well.  The two guys we will miss the most is Ellis and Calderon.  They both can score and can pass the ball very well.  But we needed to bring in a big man to compete come playoff time.  We also get Teague and Korver who we believe can give us what we will lose in Ellis and Calderon.  We lose Amare, but we upgrade in Horford for sure.  Overall this is a big move for SA and we hope it works out how we think it will.  Since Webb wanted the deal and we are taking a risk we are trading first rounders as well.  We could just let our team as is and I thought about it for a week or two or so and if we get this trade done and trade the picks as well...we will take the risk.  Please accept this trade because overall its fair and Horford is a big time player and Korver if you need the info I can get it for you but hes been talked about as being almost an elite type player.  Also we are getting long term contracts to compete for the next few seasons. We wish Ellis and the rest the best of luck and we know how good they are thats why we are trading them to the East...hopefully they dont make their way back to a western conference team before the playoffs:)

I agree with vlade. Spudd gives up the earlier pick and more valuable pick IMO . Plus he loses 3 starters and only gains about two .

Im guessing thats so your team has a legit shot at winning it? You always have to get in on trades that affect you somehow. IF another team gets better and has a shot at kicking your teams ass you have to start a topic to stop a trade.

The picks even things out one way or another. Either to somewhat even out the trade if its in question or just because we didnt have to make this trade but did so because he wanted Ellis/Green and was big fans of both.

Yes he loses 3 starters that were his starters because he had them as starters..not because they are they better players in the trade.

I had Calderon as my starting PG and went with youth..but Calderon was averaging 15-20ppg and 6-7 apg early on.

Like i said the trades fair if you look at it the right way. Also I said I dont care if it does pass. Im not going to make a big deal of it. I have the best team in the league now..so pass it or reject it. Rejecting it might keep us better...now time will tell and everything happens for a reason...if its accepted so be it...if not so be it.

Look at the stats before you guys jump onto this trade not being fair. And like i said i only do this trade for a pick one year better. Only way I do it for ATL. I do give him a 2nd rounder. If you want certain players you gotta give up something. I always take the back end of trades. To risk my team I ask for a first rounder a year sooner. Other wise i dont make the trade. Thats all there is to it.

If he wants the trade yes.  I have a top 3 team...why should I trade Ellis and Calderon and risk one of the best records in the league.  I stick to my offer and he accepted.  He came to me with the trade.  Im not making my team maybe worse unless I get something in return...which if we do get worse...i have to make myself better in the long run.

I added in the stats for you to look at.


Maybe to you the starters look better, but theres no def that my team gets better.  It may get worse.  The guys might not gel or play well together.

And Teagues stats may be a little better than Greens, because he is a PG so we can say thats not equal if you want. But I still give up more players that are legit on no guarantee without the pick included.

Amare and Ellis basically at least equal that out over Horfords stats. Or add in Calderons passing and assists.

Calderon and Belinelli are better than Korver.


This trades more equal than you guys say. Just because hes trading 3 potential starters for 2 potential starters that I HAD playing for me.

If he wanted the trade and since hes getting better players I need the pick. Its one year newer and Im losing a 2nd rounder.
